Seraphic's First Book Launch

Well, mes amis, the exciting day nears. My book Seraphic Singles comes out on March 1, but my book launch will be on Thursday, March 25, 2010, beginning at 7 PM, at the Duke of York pub, 39 Prince Arthur Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, a mere five minute walk from St. George subway station (Varsity Stadium exit). It will go past 10 PM, for as Dayle, Novalis's PR professional, says, it is going to be a "par-tay"!

So if you are a long-term (or even short-term) follower of this blog, and you can get to Toronto, you now know what you are doing on Thursday, March 25, 2010 between 7 and 10 PM!

There will be Singles. There will be Marrieds. There will be Male Religious. There may even be some Female Religious. There will be munchies to nibble. There will be books to buy and be signed by me, Seraphic, using my own dear name. Well, my own dear maiden name, anyway, since I wrote Seraphic Singles when I was Single.

Sadly, the actual, real, live Duke of York is not expected. But it would be cool if he came, so he should take this as an invitation.

Now, if you really can't make it, and I am thinking most especially of those in Europe and Australia (and New Zealand and Fritha personally), the thing to do is to buy Seraphic Singles through Columba (our Irish/UK distributor) or Twenty-Third Publications (our US distributor) in such numbers that other Catholic publishers in Europe and the USA and maybe even Australia (and New Zealand and South Africa) sit up and say "What's this?" Because if and when European and American (and Australian and New Zealander and South African) publishers pick up the book and translate it, then we can party together in Europe and the USA and maybe even Australia (and New Zealand and South Africa). Which would be COOL!

I have a whole list of people I want to meet, and if you leave comments on this blog, that's you. And since the last time I travelled to meet readers abroad, I ended up engaged to one, who knows what could happen! We might start a rock group or something.

So if you can make it to Toronto for March 25, taking a long weekend, perhaps, to see the sights, write down the date in your diaries, calendars and palm pilots. Wear your snazziest outfit and bring a camera. Par-tay!

That is awesome news, Seraphic! If there is any way I can swing this, I will do it. (I have not visited Toronto since I was a kid!)

Alas, if you thought Scotland to Johannesburg was a long flight, then unfortunately Jo'burg to Toronto is even longer. :-( Pity, would love to be there!

Will your book be available on Amazon? (I've been checking every so often to see if it can be pre-ordered. So far no luck.)

KateP, so cool! Don't bankrupt yourself--PA is a bit of a distance! (Not a huge distance, though!)

Fritha, I'll keep you posted on any events closer to home. (You may have to wait, though. Still haven't heard from the Interested European Six.)

Catholic Biblio, I don't know myself. I'll ask my PR pro, but it she doesn't know, check on March 1.

Berenike, that was very eloquent. Thank you!

Sorry, but "Because if and when European and American (and Australian and New Zealander and South African) publishers pick up the book and translate it"... translate??? All of those countries speak English (of a form)....

P.S. I would love to come but we've just spent all our pennies taking the family to Germany and back for six weeks. Have a great par-tay without me!

I often don't even know what I'm doing a week in advance, let alone two months, but... would anyone be up for carpooling out from Boston (or someplace along the Boston -> Toronto route)?

This may actually be possible, as it may be that two of the characters in the book might want to come. I will ask them.

A meet-up in Boston might be helpful to me as well, theobr. (if you're still following these comments).
